Shooting My Shooters

I decided to bust out the old Nikon that Optikalblitz “loaned” to me years ago. Of course, I forgot to clean the lens, so a lot of these pictures are horribly noisy. Out of 66 shots, 10 were usable. Some are cool, and it does display my entire arsenal:

Flight to Rochester

For the July Fourth holiday, I flew myself up to Rochester. I got a lot of pictures on the way up, and only two on the way back down. I’ve compiled them all together in an album for you after the jump.

Some are great, some are mediocre, and some are crap, but the experience was outstanding, if one of the least cost-effective ways of traveling somewhere I’ve yet found. I could have flown commercial for $243, but instead I spent about $1,600 on my Flight to ROC. Enjoy!

July Fourth

I flew myself up to Rochester for the Fourth of July. I know I’m terrible at updating this, but I took a few photos at the fireworks show that are my best yet, at least as far as fireworks photos are concerned. Some of them are crap, but some of them are, at least in my humble opinion, quite good.

Melbourne from Way Up

Well, I did my long solo cross country flight today, and after a little run-in with NASA (to be explained later on the Blog section), I still had some time to kill when I got back to Melbourne, so I took the plane up and up and up and up.

I quit at 12,600 feet only because I got all the time I needed to and $300 was enough to spend on one Saturday, but the plane could have kept going.

Flight Training

These are some terrific shots of my flight training so far, including my first-ever soft-field landing. Rest assured, more of these are coming in the future. Pay careful attention to the videography section as I will be posting a video of my first solo flight in the next week or two.

Golden Gate Bridge

This is perhaps my absolute favorite photoshoot to date. After trolling around the floors of the Macworld Expo, I decided to take a trip out to the Golden Gate Bridge.

After much laborious effort trying (and miserably failing) to figure out the MUNI bus system in San Francisco, I finally got to the bridge, and the results are astounding.

Letchworth State Park

These photos were an experiment with a film camera at Letchworth State Park, south of Rochester NY, over the July 4th holiday in 2006. Raymond took the good photos and I did the post-production work on those, but you won’t find those here.

What you will find are my efforts to restore Walgreens’ truly awful developing via Photoshop, and some of them did come out okay.
